Analysis and design of 2-stage planetary gearbox
The planetary gear drive system consists of multiple gears stacked in the shape of our solar system. A planetary gear drive is made up of a sun gear surrounded by several planet gears carried by a planet carrier and encased in ring gear. Planetary gear trains, as opposed to traditional gear trains, provide superior power density in a compact dimension and higher efficiency.
